Imperialism

Imperialism was drawn because of the economic resources of a wider world. The Europeans thought that the imperialism was right because it expanded their nation." A true world outlook is incompatible with a foreign imperialism, no matter how high-minded the governing country." Wendell Willkie

Causes of European Imperialism:

  • Search for new markets for european manufactured goods: under consumption and overproduction~ new markets, and new consumers
  • Raw materials were being searched for European industries such as: oil, rubber, tin, cotton, and gold
  • Searchs were also being performed for cheap and profitable labor,e.g. Indian labors growing cotton and opium
  • Search for goods that were being demanded by a mass consumption market: coffee, tea, chocolate, oranges, and bananas
  • Land that was cheap and profitable were also being searched
